Samia Gore becomes the first Black woman with a supplement line in Vitamin Shoppe.

Body Complete RX began as just a goal to lose weight. But eventually grew to much more. It is now a successful vitamin company. Samia Gore, of Detroit, is the first Black woman to have a line in The Vitamin Shoppe in the store's weight loss category. She launched her TRIM line, which includes plant-based metabolism drops, energy drops, and appetite suppressant capsules. Beginning in August of this year in over 700 Vitamin Shoppes across the country.

In 2014, Gore founded Body Complete RX, a lifestyle and wellness brand of plant-based and vegan supplements. Gore, who is a 40-year old mother of 4, started her own weight loss journey when she gave birth to her last child and gained weight. She said it affected her health and emotions so she decided to eat healthier. But then she couldn't find any supplements tha

t would actually suit her needs.

That's when the idea of starting out her own wellness brand came to mind. She started sharing on Instagram her own experiences, personal routine, and tips that led her to lose nearly 80 pounds. From there, she officially launched Body Complete RX in 2017.

“I was not always interested in health and wellness. This is an industry that I basically fell in based on my own personal journey, ” she said.

The company’s TRIM line, “exclusive plant-based, vegan weight management supplements”, launched in over 700 retail locations nationwide. The TRIM line consists of Boost Metabolism Drops, Control Appetite Suppressant Capsules, and Renew Energy Drops. BCRX is set to become the “first Black female-owned brand to launch in the retailer’s weight management category,” according to the announcement.

“We are so excited to be launching at one of the top retailers of nutritional supplements in the country because it's a true testament to the efficacy of our brand and products. As the first and only Black female-owned brand in The Vitamin Shoppe's weight management category, I am excited to make these wellness products more accessible to customers across the country and support their journey toward wellbeing.”

Body Complete RX started from selling supplements to also offering other wellness products such as vegan protein powders, collagen-boosting powder, superfood bars, women and men's multivitamins, and many more. Since then, the company has grossed $10 million in sales.
